CONDITIONS

  1. As a private practice, we do not accept insurance coverage under any medical health plan, all fees are the client’s responsibility.
  2. All professional fees and consultation fees associated with Juanitte Pieterse – Psycho-Legal Consultancy, Family Law Mediation, Forensic and Clinical Psychological Practice are based on our industry-specific average tariff as outlined in the section below titled “Our Fees“.
  3. In order to secure your consultation(s) and/or the required service program, full payment is required in advance as outlined below under “Our Fees”.
  4. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com in advance according to the prescribed notice period (outlined below under “Our Fees”).
  5. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  6. In the event you fail to cancel your scheduled consultation(s) and/or the required service program without the required notice period (outlined below under “Our Fees”), full charges will apply.
  7. We are willing to make arrangements for clients who cannot make full payment in advance of the service, provided they pass all necessary screenings.
  8. In certain circumstances, a discounted fee retainer may be agreed upon with my consent, provided that a client commits to a three-month consulting agreement along with an advance payment prior to commencement of my consulting service. At the end of the three-month period, both the retainer agreement and the progress of the client’s consultation requirements will be reviewed.
  9. In the event that a payment plan is granted, it is important to note that if the account is referred to a collection agency or to a law firm, you will be liable for all costs, including legal fees, incurred with full collection of the debt.
  10. In order for Juanitte Pieterse to provide meaningful and effective support, she requires her clients commit exclusively to her Psycho-Legal Counsel, Clinical Psychology treatment plan and/or Family Law Mediation program. She does not provide services to clients currently receiving any of the services mentioned above from other professionals outside of Practice.

Ethics

Juanitte Pieterse adheres strictly to the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM) Code of Conduct for Family Law Mediators along with the HPCSA’s Code of Conduct for all health professionals in general, especially psychologists, psychotherapists, and counsellors.

In accordance with these ethical codes, basic human rights are upheld as well as the integrity of each individual client, regardless of others’ concerns, including the professional. A strict level of confidentiality is required under both of SAAM and HPCSA’s codes. There are only three exemptions:

  • requiring a witness to testify in court;
  • hurting oneself; and
  • committing a serious crime.

 

When it comes to minor children, they have a right to confidentiality under the Children’s Act 38 of 2005.

Clients are responsible for not falsely representing themselves or acting violently.

As part of the professional consultant-client agreement, clients are also obliged to pay their accounts as agreed.

Juanitte Pieterse does not accept friend invitations from her clients via any social media platform. Please refer to her social media policy for more information.

RECORD KEEPING

Information collection

What information do we collect about you?

  1. Our client intake form contains the information we collect from our clients, available here
  2. Recordings and notes may be taken during or after a consultation.
  3. With your consent, we may record our consultation sessions electronically.

Data retention period

How long do we keep your information?

The HPCSA requires us to keep records in accordance with the following guidelines:

  1. It is recommended to store medical records for a minimum of six (6) years from the date they become dormant.
  2. The records of minors and clients who are mentally incapable should be stored for a longer period of time:
    • Records of minors under the age of 18 should be kept until the minor turns 21 since legally minors have the right to make a claim up to three years after they turn 18.
    • If a client is mentally incapable, the records should be kept throughout their lifetime.
  3. According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act No. 85 of 1993), health records must be retained for 20 years.

We want to inform our valued clientele about the need for annual price adjustments due to inflation and rising costs. However, we are committed to keeping these increases as minimal as possible without compromising on maintaining high-quality consulting services you expect from us.

Online and in-person Family Law Mediation, Negotiations, Dispute Resolution and Litigation fees:

  • Mediation in South Africa is subject to a variety of factors. The cost of the service varies according to the complexity and number of sessions required.
  • J P Psycho-Legal Consultancy offers cost-effective rates that are industry-specific and based on clients’ specific needs.
  • Please note that:
    • All rates are exclusive of VAT and all travel expenses.
    • Consultation time includes preparation and follow-ups.
    • Consultation time excludes the formulation and writing of Agreements.
  • The following are common factors that may influence the cost:
    • The complexity of the financial and asset division. 
    • Arrangements for child custody and spousal support. 
    • The level of cooperation between the two parties. 
    • Amount of time spent in mediation and the number of sessions. 
  • Agreements, Settlement Contracts and Parenting Plans contain recorded agreements enforceable by the courts.

 

Family Law Mediation: Letters, Reports, Agreements & Parenting Plans:

  1. Interim Agreements e.g., Application for maintenance, Rule 43, and Rule 58.
  2. Divorce and Separation Settlements – Division of property, financial arrangements, and distribution of assets.
  3. Child Custody & Parenting Plans – Arrangements for shared parental responsibilities, schooling, educational programs and child care.
  4. Maintenance & Support – Maintenance arrangements for spousal, partner and child support.
  5. Antenuptial Agreements – Providing couples with assistance in drafting fair marriage agreements.
  6. Family Disputes – Constructive resolution of broader conflicts within families.
  7. Letter for attorneys and court purposes.
  8. Update reports for parent coordinators, attorneys and court.
  9. Update of existing Maintenance and/or Parenting Agreements.

  2. A 60% deposit will apply upon registration and full payment will be required 15 working days prior to the commencement of the Family Law Mediation services.
  3. Payment confirmations must be emailed to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  4. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 10 working days in advance of the scheduled Mediation date in order to receive a refund.
  5. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  6. In the event that you do not cancel at least 10 working days before the scheduled consultation, a full charge will be applied as if the reserved Mediation had taken place.

Psychotherapy: In-Person and Online (Remote)

Online and in-person consultation fees are based on industry-specific average rates:

  • R1,600.00 per 50-min consultation excl. VAT and traveling costs.
  • Assessment, evaluation, and report writing start at R3,900.00, respectively.

 

Please note:

  1. To ensure availability, appointments must be made at least 5 working days in advance, with full payment due at the time of making your reservation.
  2. A copy of the full payment in PDF format must be submitted along with the Client Intake Form.
  3. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 2 days ahead of time in order to receive a refund.
  4. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  5. In the event that you do not cancel your consultation reservation at least two days before the scheduled time, a full charge will be applied as if the consultation had taken place.

In-Patient and Hospitalized Clients

Our consultation fees for inpatients and hospitalized clients are based on industry-specific average rates

  • R1,600.00 per 50-min consultation, excluding VAT and traveling costs.
  • Assessing, evaluating, and report writing start at R3,900.00, respectively.

Employer Assistance Program, Presentations (Power Talks) and Seminars are based on industry-specific average rates.

  2. A 60% deposit will apply upon registration and full payment will be required 15 working days prior to the commencement of the Employer Assistance Program, Presentations (Power Talks) and Seminar services.
  3. Payment confirmations must be emailed to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  4. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 10 working days in advance of the scheduled Employer Assistance Program, Presentations (Power Talks) and Seminar date in order to receive a refund.
  5. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  6. In the event that you do not cancel at least 10 working days before the scheduled event for Employer Assistance Program, Presentations (Power Talks) and Seminar, a full charge will be applied as if the reserved event had taken place.

Residential recovery programs

  1. The cost of our Strong-for-Life Residential Recovery Programs vary depending on the duration and type of the treatment program.
  2. To request a quotation, please email us at info@sfl-integrativetherapy.com.
  3. A 60% deposit will apply upon registration and full payment will be required 15 working days prior to the commencement of your residential program to secure your place.
  4. Payment confirmations must be emailed to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  5. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 10 days ahead of time in order to receive a refund.
  6. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  7. In the event that you do not cancel your Residential Recovery Program at least 10 days before the scheduled time, a full charge will be applied as if the the Residential Recovery Program had taken place.
