Strong for Life's Terms and Conditions

CONDITIONS

  1. As a private practice, we do not accept insurance coverage under any medical health plan, all fees are the client’s responsibility.
  2. Our integrative therapies are based on our industry-related average tariff as outlined in the section below titled “Our Fees“.
  3. In order to secure a therapy, counselling or physical training sessions, a seminar, or the required Residential Recovery Program, full payment is required in advance by sending an email with a payment confirmation to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com (as outlined below under “Our Fees”).
  4. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com in advance according to the prescribed notice period (outlined below under “Our Fees”). We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  5. In the event you fail to cancel your required therapy session or booking reservation without the required
    notice period (outlined below under “Our Fees”), full charges will apply.
  6. We are willing to make arrangements for clients who cannot make full payment in advance of the service, provided they pass all necessary screenings.
  7. In the event that a payment plan is granted, it is important to note that if the account is referred to a collection agency or to a law firm, you will be liable for all costs, including legal fees, incurred with full collection of the debt.
  8. As part of our refer-a-friend program, all referred clients are eligible for a 10% discount on their first consultation provided they mention your name when scheduling an appointment. To refer a friend, simply share our website with them and ask them to mention your name when they make an appointment.
  9. Recordings and notes may be taken during or after a session.
  10. In order to provide meaningful and effective therapeutic support, we require our clients to commit exclusively to one therapist. We do not provide therapeutic services to clients who are currently in therapy with another therapist outside of Strong For Life.

Ethics

We adhere to the HPCSA’s Code of Conduct for all health professionals in general, especially psychologists, psychotherapists, and counsellors. In accordance with the ethical code, basic human rights are upheld as well as the integrity of each individual client, regardless of the concerns of others, including the therapist. A strict level of confidentiality is required by the code. There are only three exemptions:

  • requiring a witness to testify in court;
  • hurting oneself; and
  • committing a serious crime.

When it comes to younger children, they have a right to confidentiality under the law.

Any of our therapists do not accept friend invitations from their clients via any social media platform. Please refer to our social media policy for more information.

Therapy clients are responsible for not misrepresenting their therapy or acting violently. As part of the therapist-client agreement, clients are also obliged to pay their accounts as agreed.

RECORD KEEPING

Information collection

What information do we collect about you?

  1. Our client intake form contains the information we collect from our clients, available here
  2. Notes may be taken during our therapeutic/counselling sessions.
  3. With your consent, we may record our therapeutic/counselling sessions electronically.

Data retention period

How long do we keep your information?

The HPCSA requires us to keep records in accordance with the following guidelines:

  1. It is recommended to store medical records for a minimum of six (6) years from the date they become dormant.
  2. The records of minors and clients who are mentally incapable should be stored for a longer period of time:
    • Records of minors under the age of 18 should be kept until the minor turns 21 since legally minors have the right to make a claim up to three years after they turn 18.
    • If a client is mentally incapable, the records should be kept throughout their lifetime.
  3. According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act No. 85 of 1993), health records must be retained for 20 years.

Our Fees

For 2025, our fee structure and terms are as follows:

In-Person (face-to-face) and Online (Remote)

Our online and in-person integrative therapies are based on an industry-related average tariff that includes the following options:

    • R1,300.00 per 50-minute session,
    • R1,950.00 per 90-minute session, OR
    • R2,600.00 per 110-minute session
    • The cost of an Assessment, an Evaluation, and a Report starts at R2,500.00, respectively.
 
  1. In order to secure a therapy session, full payment must be made upon making an appointment. Payment confirmations must be emailed to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  2. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 2 days (48 hours) ahead of time in order to receive a refund. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  3. In the event that you do not cancel your required therapy session at least two days (48 hours) before the scheduled time, a full charge will be applied as if the session had taken place.
  4. For students and pensioners or at the practitioner’s discretion, 10% discounts are available when you schedule and secure payment for 6 or more sessions in advance.

In-Patient and Hospitalized Clients

  1. Our therapeutic fees for inpatients and hospitalized clients are based on an industry-related average tariff of R1,300.00 per 50-minute session (excl. travel).  
  2. In order to secure a therapy session, full payment must be made upon making an appointment. Payment confirmations must be emailed to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  3. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 2 days (48 hours) ahead of time in order to receive a refund. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  4. In the event that you do not cancel your required therapy session at least two days (48 hours) before the scheduled time, a full charge will be applied as if the session had taken place.

Employer Assistance Program, Presentations and seminars

  1. Employer Assistance Program, Presentations (Power Talks) and Seminars costs for organizations are determined on a per-hour basis using industry-related average tariffs.
  2. To request a quotation, please email us at info@sfl-integrativetherapy.com.
  3. In order to secure a therapy session, full payment must be made upon making an appointment. Payment confirmations must be emailed to ffinances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  4. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 5 days ahead of time in order to receive a refund. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  5. In the event that you do not cancel your required therapy session at least 5 days before the scheduled time, a full charge will be applied as if the the reserved space had taken place.

Residential recovery programs

  1. The cost of our Strong-for-Life Residential Recovery Programs vary depending on the duration and type of the treatment program.
  2. To request a quotation, please email us at info@sfl-integrativetherapy.com.
  3. As a prerequisite to secure the required Residential Recovery Program, full payment must be made upon making an appointment. Payment confirmations must be emailed to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com.
  4. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to finances@sfl-integrativetherapay.com at least 10 days ahead of time in order to receive a refund. We do not accept cancellations via Phone, WhatsApp, SMS or text message.
  5. In the event that you do not cancel your Residential Recovery Program at least 10 days before the scheduled time, a full charge will be applied as if the the Residential Recovery Program had taken place.
