An important part of her work involves raising public awareness about psychological and personality disorders, allowing the wider public to understand, recognize and differentiate between the specific characteristics associated with Personality Style, Personality Disorders, Mental Illness, and General Psychological Distress.
Raising public awareness about mental health facilitates early identification and intervention, which significantly improves outcomes for individuals experiencing psychological distress. It also helps to reduce stigma, enabling more people to seek the help they need without fear of judgment. As a result, informed communities can offer better support and foster environments that promote mental well-being for everyone.
Furthermore, as a psychotherapist, she has held the position of head psychotherapist at the Phyllis Robertson Home for people with mild to severe intellectual, developmental and psychological disabilities.
Additionally, Juanitte has extensive experience providing Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Complex Divorce Psycho-Legal consultations, and various advisory services to Businesses, Individuals and Groups of diverse demographics and socio-economic backgrounds. When needed, she consults closely with colleagues, including physicians, medical and mental health care professionals, and legal experts. This is to ensure comprehensive psychological care and legal guidance for her clients.
When working with clients, she adopts an integrative approach based on the principle that interpersonal relationships have a significant impact on a person’s psychological, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral characteristics. For this reason, she developed Strong-for-Life integrative therapeutic interventions with a vision, passion and dedication to provide exceptional restorative interventions for her clients in a supportive, empathic and safe environment.
Finally, her psychotherapy (also known as psycho-educational therapy), focuses on identifying internal and external factors that may affect the client’s thinking, perceptions, mood, and/or behavior, ultimately limiting their ability to cope with life. With this approach, she enables her clients to achieve meaning and purpose in their lives while also facilitating their ongoing self-development.
“Should you be interested in any of my psychological programs, psycho-legal counsel, professional expertise or wish to collaborate with me, I invite you to complete and submit the client intake form, available on my website available on my website – I will respond as soon as possible. I firmly believe that everyone is capable of transforming adversity into victory whatever the circumstances.” – Juanitte Pieterse
